"Eye-catching" Projects:

In a tough, competitive and challenging market, We continue to successfully complete some striking and exciting projects. We feel privileged to work day to day with some of the most creative and imaginative design teams in the country. We are proud of what we do as well with the skills and knowledge that we add to a project.

Quite often we come across projects where the design team has been told that their ideas are not possible with what is currently available on the market or that the restrictions with standard material sizes, time and budget will severely limit their creativity.

We work hard to overcome these types of issues with our positive, creative solutions.
We find that often the most challenging projects become the most rewarding and produce buildings to be proud of:

immediately appealing or noticeable; striking. "an eye-catching poster" synonyms:striking, arresting, conspicuous, noticeable, dramatic, impressive, imposing, spectacular, breathtaking, dazzling, amazing, astounding, astonishing, surprising, staggering, stunning, sensational, awesome, awe-inspiring, engaging, remarkable, notable, noteworthy, distinctive, extraordinary, outstanding, incredible, phenomenal, unusual, rare, uncommon, out of the ordinary "each pot is decorated with eye-catching designs

Project Update - Thames Valley Science Park

We thought we would share a photo of the recently completed Thames Valley Science Park Gateway building showing the Cor-ten and glazed facade in the winter sun.

The panels were designed and fabricated to incorporate the window returns, soffit's and copings into each individual panel to reduce unwanted joint lines.

We look forward to following the site weathering progress of the facade over the coming months as it takes it's place on the site with its particular landscape and surroundings.

Brief Update -
Awards, Travel, Projects and Investment

It has been a busy and exciting start to the Year.
Design and planning is progressing on several of this years newly awarded projects based in London with another in Portsmouth. We are 95% complete on our latest striking Cor-ten and Anodised aluminium project for the new Thames Valley Science park in Reading.

Our Sutton project with feature staircases and eye catching internal and external cor-ten panels has been successfully completed and Shaftesbury Theatre has picked up another award, this time at the 58th annual civic trust awards.

16 of our team traveled to the Pyrenees for a team building weekend which was encouraging and now becoming an annual event.

Some exciting news also in that our new Water jet and larger High definition plasma CNC machines have arrived and are currently being installed as we continue to invest in the latest technology.

Building Awards -
"Small Project of the Year Up to £5M"

More Great News for the Shaftesbury Theatre Project - Picking up small project of the year (Up to £5m) at this years Building Awards.

“This stunning new fly tower rewrites the rules about historic conservation. The original theatre is an Edwardian baroque pile whose terracotta facades are brimming with carvings and ornamentation. A conventional response might have been to cast any new intervention as a restrained supporting act to the riotous melodrama already in place. But instead this design transfuses the energy of the original into an extraordinary serrated box that now crowns the building, its exterior clad in a rusty weathered steel to reference the terracotta below.”

Well done also to the Shaftesbury project architects "Bennetts Associates" for picking up the Architectural Practice of the Year award.

New London Architecture Award - "Best Culture & Community Development"

We are delighted to share the news that the Shaftesbury Theatre project are now the recipients of the New London Architecture Award for the Best Cultural and Community development in London. Presented to the Theatre and Bennett's Associates, the award recognises the Theatre’s Fly Tower extension which was completed at the beginning of March. In a statement about the nominees in the Culture and Community category, judge Peter Murray explained that “this year’s winner, the Shaftesbury Theatre, represents an ‘absolutely stunning addition to the townscape’, with its new fly tower making an enormous difference to events the previously threatened – and temporarily dark – theatre can put on”. He went on to add “that it was a ‘great intervention and a real surprise to see it there. It seems to fit perfectly.'”. As ever, our thanks and congratulations go to our architects, Bennett's Associates, and everyone involved in the project.
